On September 20, College of Economics welcomes 26 International Students for the undergraduate program of International Economics and Trade. To help international students better integrate into campus life and clarify their learning goals, the College held the freshmen Orientation Ceremony for international students in Room 405, Building 7. Zhang Chi, Deputy secretary of the Party committee and secretary of the discipline inspection commission of the college, Shen Qianling, Director of the Department of International Economics and Trade, and Tian Ye from the administrative office of the College attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Song Tao, the head teacher of Class 1, Grade 2024 of International Economics and Trade (for International Students).
Zhang Chi expressed a warm welcome and sincere greetings to the freshmen on behalf of College of Economics. She encouraged students to cherish the learning opportunity and strive to improve themselves to become outstanding talents with international vision and cross-cultural communication ability.
Shen Qianling shared her profound understanding of international education and encouraged freshmen to actively participate in classroom discussions and academic research, continuously improving their professional qualities.
Tian Ye talked about the importance of cross-cultural communication and encouraged freshmen to bravely step out of their comfort zones and establish deep friendships with classmates from different countries and cultural backgrounds.
Song Tao conducted discipline education for freshmen. He provided a detailed explanation focusing on the new stage and environment of learning and living, covering aspects such as residence safety, traffic safety, making friends safely, taking exams honestly, working legally, and handling disputes reasonably. He also reminded freshmen to pay attention to mental and physical health and effectively relieve academic pressure in a timely manner. Song Tao required international students to study seriously and strictly abide by the Chinese laws and regulations and the school rules and disciplines of Sichuan Agricultural University, abide by the code of conduct for international students, and ensure the order of learning and living in the new semester. At the same time, Song Tao launched "Hand in Hand" project to encourage freshmen to get familiar with each other, cooperate sincerely, and continuously innovate.
After the meeting, freshmen expressed that they would cherish this learning opportunity, strive to improve their comprehensive qualities and innovation abilities, and lay a solid foundation for future career development.
